Lygia Pires is a Brazilian award-winner graphic designer, visual artist and enthusiast of the local typography community. Several brands, books and international lettering publications have featured her works. Since 2015 she has led presential and online calligraphy and lettering classes for designers and lettering artists across the country, with more than a hundred students along her teaching record.

Yearly, Lygia gathers twelve students for her promotional calendar, with a piece of art dedicated to each month. Among other stunning lettering and calligraphy works, “December” closed the 2020 calendar with a flourished lettering with Tuscan-inspired decoration. Hand-drawn and later vectorized, this lettering features swashed terminals in letters D, E and R, inline decorations, and Art-Déco-inspired flourishing lines around the letters.
